Can anyone beat my 1/4 mile time?
I was told that a bone stock 2002 civic ex ran 15.8 in the 1/4 mile. I was wondering if this was true. Have any of you ran on a track, or seen a stock Civic run 15.8 on a track. I am looking for the magic word track time here. I don't want to hear how you think it could because of some street race. I want to hear track times, and see a slip if possible. Any info would be apreciated.

Hey doublin, that's kinda slow for an IS300 don't you think?
Anyway, I'll be at the track tomorrow night so I'll post some slips when I get back. Hopefully nothing too disappointing....

RT does NOT affect your ET. Whether your RT is .200 or 16 seconds... your ET will remain the same. RT time starts when the LAST AMBER light lights up, and STOPS when you move the first 2 feet. Your ET STARTS when you move the first 2 feet, and ENDS when you cross the final beam at the end of the 1/4 mile.
And yes, just because you haven't seen it, doesn't mean it can't happen. He's got video proof there, and on top of that, he had even posted video of his entire friggin engine bay so we'd see his car was stock.
well...i dont think ive ever seen a 7th gen run at my track...so i guess i will just have to be thee first and let you know how i do.....lol...although im sure there are plenty of them...i just keep missing them in orlando i guess

I would like to hear someone else tell me they ran that fast or have personally seen a STOCK civic ex run a 15.8. That is not that fast, I just don't think the civic can do it.
Tell me what you don't like about yourself....

I saw the video, and it looks like a tv, not like he was at the track, and I did not see a time slip, so your not busting anyones chops but your own. I came to this forum to ask if anyone else has seen a stock Civic run close to 15.8. I saw the video posted in another web site and thought that this forum would be a good place to ask around. There was no slip posted with it when I saw it.

P.S. I don't know if any of you guys have ever been to a track but 15.8 timeslips can be had by the handful by making a lap around the booth (especially with all the slow ricers around my area)
I however believe it could be done at 30 dergreed F, at 200ft above see level, with a 40 mph tailwind and no humidity, then yes with a driver that KNOWS his car to the absolute max a stock civic may be able to hit a 15.8, this video however does not make me believe. Also unless his friends proceeded to leave the camara on walk over to where his car was, congratulate him on the run and then proceed to take a full video of his engine bay and interior to be sure he was stock /w no serious weight reductions then maybe he did run this time, but it certainly wasn't with a stock EX. You guys and your STOCK EX RUNS 15.8 story has more holes in it than a mouse-ravaged piece of swiss cheese. And for the record I do like the car very much and came very close to purchasing one, I jsut don't believe that it ran this time. Any S2000 owner that tried to tell me they ran a 12.8 would get the same treatment as it is just as unbelievable as this

And i agree with you, if you take a closer look at the vid it shows he ran a 15.8 @ 918.xx mph ...now either he owns a TT supra (lol traction problems) or this track had an error or the track just has the worst equipment ever and a G-tech is more accurate

i think what he means is... if the track computer reported a trap speed of 918.xx mph, what prevents us from thinking that the ET timer on the same computer didn't malfunction as well and give a false time... which is reasonable... but if he can do it again and again... and especially go lower with mods then i wouldn't doubt it the first time..

Okay, I'll post this again....
A. He had video of his run
B. He had video of his stock engine bay and car
C. He had a timeslip.
D..... When a track has an error, it is many times a misread trap speed. However, 99% of the time, when there is a trap speed error, the ET is still right. Why?
I'll tell you why. ET is measured when your wheels leave the first 2 beams and travel a distance of 2 feet. ET is stopped when you cross the last beam. Simple. One beam starts... one beam stops. However, trap speed is CALCULATED by 2 beams down at the end of the track near the finish line. These 2 beams are generally 60' apart, however this may vary from track to track. The trap speed is calculated by the amount of time it takes your car to travel the distance between these two beams. This is why trap speed errors can occur and yet the ET remains accurate.
