Took '02 EX to dealer today for rattling noise in engine
I took my '02 EX 5spd to the Honda dealer today to have my engine checked for a strange rattling noise it makes when I accelerate. This is the second time I have taken it in for this. With the first visit (different dealer), the service guy told me that the mechanic didn't hear any strange noises and that my engine was fine...figures!!
This time I drove with the mechanic and he heard the noise after I pointed it out to him. He has never heard this rattling sound on the 7th gen Civics before and he was at a loss for words as to why it might be happening. He told me that they will need the car all day because it will take awhile to fully inspect the engine. On Tuesday morning of next week I am going to drop it off at the dealer and leave it there all day. Hopefully, they'll find out why my engine sounds cheap under acceleration. I'll keep you guys posted.
