Highflow cat/dp

OK well after all the feedback on my question about removing the cat&DP completely in favor of a straigh pipe i've decided that i want to get the highflow cat/DP from kamikaze or HP. 2 questions:
1. Any recomendations on which one to get?
2. Guess i should have asked this one first but...Will either bolt directly up to DC 4-1 header & Thermal R&D catback?

At first i just took #2 for granted but then i thought about the fact that i havent seen them sell just the DP separately so i figured they might have a special hook up at the front end of the pipe since each company has it bolted diretly to that particulat companies header. I'm sure the outgoing end will be ok though since it has to bolt up to somethig besides "their" part.....understand what i'm thinking

Personally, I like the hp design better. It has very long tubes that continue until underneath the block where they merge into the downpipe. This is a "race" design type of header. It does require modification to the front motor mount if you have an ex 5sp vic. No one has had any problems as a result of modding the motor mount...haven't evAr seen a post anyway.

The kam is just a header exactly like the oem but the tubes have a slightly bigger diameter and a pretty much identical downpipe only there is no cat in it. The oe design is best for low to mid-range power. Your intake and exhaust all cater to mid-high range power but mostly high. However, this unit does not require any modification to the motor mount.

Both units will require a similator to make your ecu receive the same signals even though there is no cat.

This is just my opinion based on the designs of the 2 parts. Don't let anyone convince you that they know which is actually "best". None of us no which does better on the dyno in reality. The main difference is modding and not modding the engine mount.

this guy i know from school has a Rustang 5.0 with no cats and Magnaflow dual exhaust. His car sounds pretty sweet. lol. He has raced the car several times at Qualcomm but i dont think he has been caught with not cats outside of Auto Class.

OK well i have a camaro V8 305 with no cat and that sounds bad as hell but everyone said the ol rice burner would sound sheety without one.
AND i know you guys are trying to help but i am asking if the Kamikaze or HP downpipe/cat would bold in inbetween my DC 4-1 header and my Thermal R&D catback. or are they made to work specifically with their respective headers?

ohiojosh78,

Have you looked into Random Technology cats? They have the downpipe welded to them, have 2 bungs and are a bolt-on piece that would maintain your header and cat-back.

I think they're only $280ish.

Sorry for coming late into the thread, but I have a straight pipe, no cat, no silencers, just the muffler, and a bullet. it sounds sweet, and you can really feel the power gains.
