Aw... Why not LX's? LX's have better gearing, so we'll pull better off the line than EX's. Plus we're lighter. Plus we have only 1 less maximum torque to the wheels than EX's. I've got a carbon fiber hood (-15 pounds of weight), aftermarket wheels (increased traction off the line), a modified throttle body (better throttle response and slight flow increase), and a frame stiffening bar that reduces wheel hop (for more traction off the line).
Do you want to race till a certain distance, or till a certain speed? What speed do we start at; from a dead stop or from a rolling start?

)and let you blow the doors of my porky EP
EDIT: I'll be in NH this weekend as well visiting the folks so if anyone wants to meet up and possibly make a few runs let me know, I'll be in Newport (where I used to live), Sunapee (carving up some trails), and Canaan (where the folks live), I'll probably take a roll through Keene too just cuz its the back way to NH from RI

I wouln't want to race any more than a 1/4 mile only because thats getting extremly dangerous on public roads, we can do a few runs from a stop and a few from a roll, It would be cool to see how we hang on the highway as well, were are you located Grey?EDIT: my full list of mods is AEM CAI, 17" rims (plus 14 lbs from stock), with better tires, rear strut bar, Ground Control coil overs only dropped about 1.2", and I may or may not have my sound system installed by the time we race, its supposed to come in this Monday(plus 50 lbs at least)
EDIT X 2: hey grey I plugged shrewbury into map quest and its only estimated 45 minutes from my driveway probably only 35 minutes for me sounds sweet!

I live in Shrewsbury, MA which is basically right next to Worcester, MA. PM me if you'de like my cell phone number. Yeah, 1/4 mile sounds good. I don't know how we'de measure that off though? Of course, the weather would have to be good too. We could do some highway runs too I guess...
Your wheels are seriously heavy. Wait, is that 14 pounds per corner or total? Mine are 17's too, but only weigh 15.5lbs. Plus I weigh 150lbs, so that's slightly easier on the car.
So wait, let's count this up...
You and your ride:
weight: 2744 + 215 + 17 + 50 = 3026lbs
horsepower: 160 @ 6,500rpm
torque: 132ft-lbs @ 5,000rpm
weight to horsepower ratio: 18.9 pounds per horsepower
weight to torque ratio: 22.9 pounds per foot pound of torque
Me and my ride:
weight: 2465 + 150 + 12 - 15 = 2,612lbs
horsepower: 115 @ 6,100rpm
torque: 110 ft-lbs @ 4,500rpm (see what I mean about off the line?)
weight to horsepower ratio: 22.7 pounds per horsepower
weight to torque ratio: 23.7 pounds per foot pound of torque
So by the numbers it'll be a close race during take off with the winner being the one with the most traction and torque at lower rpm's. Probably me. Then you'll pull ahead of me since you've got more power in the upper rpm's. One other thing to consider is the drag coefficient. I know that my coupe has a pretty good one. Especially since the back tapers down because of the trunk. Yours probably has a slightly worse one since the back drops off rapidly. Although you're lowered, so that compensates a bit for it.
I think with all of those factors it'll be a close race. I've also got a short shifter, so the time betwean my shifts is slightly less than yours (theoretically). If you put in that system, then the race will be even closer. Oh yeah, I've also got a K&N air filter and that throttle body modification. That might have given me one or two extra horsies.
Edit: Modified some numbers...

This is also my first standard car but I don't suck at it cuz I've been driving it for awhile now. Either way let me know!
Our streets are dangerous enough during winter. There is no need to add racing to the mix. I suggest waiting until at least Spring to schedule something.

in this one sheesh, but at least you didn't result to juvenile name calling (man I'm 19 I can't believe I just said that) and for that you get Note: Bhaz413 this would be were you come in and try to argue with me and make several more pointless remarks about how much smarter you are than me, and before you try to back this statement up by picking out all of the spelling errors in my post, Yes I do type fast, no I do not go back and proofread, hence... mad spelling mistakes

in this one sheesh, but at least you didn't result to juvenile name calling (man I'm 19 I can't believe I just said that) and for that you get
props in my book. Either way I didn't say that I wanted to do a 0-120mph top speed shoot out through the center of boston, MA, in fact in the PM that I sent to Grey we stated that this was only going to go down to a max of 80mph and on a road free of traffic and police, and before someone jump on that statement yes we are in MA/RI and yes there are plenty of street like this in the area (or at least my area there is certainly a bunch). All you street racing haters are always so quick to jump on people as soon as you say you want to race someone and its not taking place at **insert any respectable track here**, but YES low and behold out from the fire and smoke emerges the wonderful phenomena of **unhabited, not traveled streets**. I do agree with Blk4blk2k1's statement that yes we do not need people racing on an inch of snow or a road with black ice from stop light to stop light weaving in and out of traffic, but please feel free to quote the area in which I hinted that this was going to be the case. Thank you
Note: Bhaz413 this would be were you come in and try to argue with me and make several more pointless remarks about how much smarter you are than me, and before you try to back this statement up by picking out all of the spelling errors in my post, Yes I do type fast, no I do not go back and proofread, hence... mad spelling mistakes
If you DO NOT belive me, take a look at the berlin turnpike in Berlin CT.
Anyone from this fourm can vouch for me. It used to be a place to go cruise, and hang out, till street racers ruined it. Now, if you are simply going through "The pike" for a bite to eat, or do some shopping, you MAY get tagged by the police, because you look like a racer, and have to subject your self to the harassment of the police, and believe me, they are the biggest ****** around here.
So you say are you 19? Is the SI your first real car? Do you think now that youi have a SI that you are top dog and can race people cause you are so called "fast"? Or are you a spoiled rich kid who's mommy and daddy bought the car for you? Just by reading you post, and how defensive you got over it, sure looks like you are the juvenile in this case. I am stating my oppionion that street racing is for idiots, and HAS NO PLACE ON A PUBLIC ROAD.
besides, a new member from the NE asking people if they wana race? how do we not know you a police officer trying to bate some people to go race, and arrest the people watching for tresspassing? That wouldnt be the first time I have seen somthing like that.
build up some creditbility before you go asking people if "you wana race my SI", and maybe you will get some repect, and me not flaming you.
One more thing......You see under my icon "Super Memeber" it means I have been on this board for a long time, and people know me well, and for ANYONE to come on here asking to street race, I will flame them for being a so called "idiot".

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but anyone that you call an idiot is going to become extremly defensive, go up to the next person you see on the street and call him an idiot and let me know what happens
As for the Si being my first "real" car ..no it's not I previously drove a 1989 Merkur XR4Ti, it is however my first brand new car and I do work for it, in fact between my car and insurance I don't have too much spending money (not that this is relevant or anyone cares in any way). And no I don't think that a 15 second car is fast , in fact the Si is a great deal slower than the merkur, I just don't like wrenching every week on my daily driver, its quite frustrating.
Normaly I wouldn't just come onto a site and be a F$#%tard and call everyone out, but a bunch of people came on to the site where I have been a member for quite some time stating that the EX's are just as quick as the Si's and as you might imagine this sparked my curiosity as I would like to think that I did not spend an extra $2000 in vain, even though performance isn't everything that is the main reason why I spent the extra for the Si.
As for me being a police officer I do see where you are coming from, however once you saw me you would know right away there is no way in hell I am a police officer lol
All hail the super member
If you have been here a long time and people respect you then that is great but I think you look pretty silly when you glorify the little title under your name like you have accomplished something, and furthermore I did not come here looking for respect, I came here to meet up with a few enthusiast and to make a couple fo runs to see if two cars really were that close in comparison. So if you feel the need to call people whom you have no clue about an idiot for one belief that they may have, then I think there are plenty of communist countries out there that would love to have your respect, as for me.. I do not

thats right, bow to the bhaz cause i am super....ugh i have no energy to reply, too tired. But as for you working for everything, then thats cool. I just hate when people pop on, want to race thier new SI that mommy and daddy have bought them. I appolgize for my extreme rudness as well, I relize I did go a bit over board. Just been having bad days latly between school and personal life, and seeing another "lets race" posting pissed me off, cause street racing is one of my pet pev's. Do what you want with street racing, however I am totally against it, but if someone crash's, gets arrested ect...., dont post about it cause all i will reply is "I told you so".
