IDQcivic should not be trusted
I changed my spark plugs to the denso iridium ik20's.. most people who have them like them and noticed a little improvement over the stock plugs... they are easy to change just take off the coils and undo the plugs... as for the timing belt, not sure why you'd want to replace that unless you had tons of miles like maybe over 100k, but I changed my cam gear and the timing belt looked fine...

where is the cheapest you could get those plugs from and how much do they run? im putting almost 70,000 and the timing is recommended at 90,000. Just doing a little planning ahead to familarize myself with it becuase i know it is going to be a pain.

I switched over to ZEX plugs.
You need a 5/8" spark plug socket with a long extension to remove and
install new plugs.
You can get them at Auto Zone, Kragen, etc.

you can find the densos for about $50 shipped, they are pretty nice. they say change every 30k for those plugs though, not the 100k+ interval for the stocks

I though our cars came with platinum(Denso or NKG) plugs and that's why everyone is going Iridium

our cars come stock with ngk platniums, due at about 110,000 miles, which is supposedly what all platniums can do.

Good Lord...you people drop $50 on to replace plugs that don't need to be replaced. If you like changing your plugs and want the most performance use COPPER. They don't last as long, but deliver the most performance.

edit: ...not to mention they should only cost $10.

ak can only hope to improve
My 02 LX auto came with NGK Platinum.... the tips looked brown and dusty at 20,000 miles.

Installed Denso Iridium IK20 and it's smoother... hopefully i'll get better gas mileage like people have said.

people you gotta remember that by changing spark plugs at a good intervial/Kms/Miles is a good practice....that's why is call a tune-up plus an important fact that a lot of you people forgot to mention is that when you change spark plugs you gotta put tune-up gel on the electrical conductor side and anti-seize on the thread side to promote a good threading and keeps the electrical conductor on plugs plus coil in good working condition.

i heard of the anti-seize on the threads but i have not heard of the tune-up gel....is it called tune- up gel?

what is the torque for the spark plugs and the bolts that hold down the coil?

thanks
