215/35/18 or 215/40/18 for tires?

would do u guys think? I know the risk of bending a rim for 35 series is higher but do they really look that much better than the 40 series? I live in cali in a area with not that many potholes. comments please. and oh yea i'm going wit RS Limited TRAMA 18s with yokohama spec 2s. also if someone had CLEAR pics of how 40 series and 35 series tires look than it would be really cool. thanks

are u gonna drop it at all ? if so what kinda of drop u want ? 1.5" 1.75" 2" 2.5" ? above 2" i would get 40 series. 2" to 2.5" 35 series. since potholes aren't a concern for u i'd get 35 series with a 2" + drop
i've got 18x7.5 215/35 paradas with a 2.5" drop, its tucked and im in ny, potholes all over and have had no problems

I've got Nitto NT450 215/35-18 and they match up good to the stock tire size, plus I think they look better than the 40 series.

225 is way to think...if you have pothole problems get 40 series, if not 35's are fine.

If you are not going to lower the car much, you would want to go with a slightly thicker (i.e. 40 series vs. 35) tire to fill up the wheel gap. However, if you're going down 2+ inches, yeah, you could achieve a pretty decent look with 35 series tires.

I'm running 215/40/18. I definitely feel everything so I don't know how you guys with 35 series tires avoid putting dents in your rims. Note, I'm very careful about avoiding holes, large bumps, abrupt pavement level changes, etc.

eh, if you like a slammed car like me, 40s are too thick for 18s.. i think 225-35-18 would be perfect. 215-35-18 would be the next one. i hate my 40s.

215-40-18 alone is thick, 225-40 would be way too thick for 18s

damnit YS, you still havnt gotten your rims.. i've ben reading about you getting rims for the longest time now.. haha i'm just messin..
225-40s? without a drop it should fit, with a drop, lowest you can go without having to do any mods is 1.75". theres a chance of it rubbing but i think it should be fine, might have to keep some negative camber or roll your fenders a little tho. i think you would regret it tho, i have 215-40s and i've hit a couple potholes and they're still fine. i personally think they're too thick cause i have a 1.75" drop and could only probably lower it 2" without any problems but its still too damn high... 225-35-18 would be slightly smaller and be the closest to stock tire size.

i'm sorry
i'm getting my rims today, but i just want to make sure it'll fit without rubbing.......

the person can sell me <font color=white style="background-color: 3E3E3E;">$1400 shipped</font ft> for <font color=white style="background-color: 3E3E3E;">RH C5 18x7.5 +42 w/ 225/40/18</font ft> ...... <font color=white style="background-color: 3E3E3E;">99% NEW</font ft>
for the tires too big or bigger than stock, i'm not really concern, i just concern if it'll fit w/o rubbing because i'm using it for daily basis. When the tires are worn out, then i'm getting 215/40/18 or 225/35/18 ...... probably in about 2 years

i'm buying it in about 5 hours
