yeah it is an automatic. I talked to honda and told them about the problem and even told then about this site and how peoplehave been posting problems about the transmission and they said that they have never heard about any of the probs with the new civics transmission they said that the probs they have been having with transmission were on the new accords, and odessys however you spell it. but If I were you civicpunker tkae it to honda as soon as you can and tell them what is going on. beofre it goes out.

well grey I was heading to my friends house to drop him off. and I first really felt it when I was stopped at a stop sign and then went thru the stop sign and when it was going into 2nd gear it missed it and reved up and then finally caught it. So we kinda looked at each other and then kinda blew it off well then at the next stop sign I stopped and it was fine . then I went thru it and right when it was going to 2nd gear it completely missed it and just reved up. right when it reved up I knew I lsot my transmission. So i parked it and turned it off and made all the phone calls and then I turned it on real quick and the trans worked but it only 1st gear worked so I hauled @$$ home not hitting any of the stop signs and kept felling want to slip out of first and it did a few times. So i got it home thank god. and you could hear the transmission winding and making all of these funny and loud noises. So i knew I lost it completely. even reverse was gone. So that I s realyl what happened but I felt it acting up for the past few weeks. Like when it would go to second gear and would slam into 2nd and you could feel the car shake when it would do it. and when it was going from 2nd to third it would not going into gear right away and rev up really high. So if any of yall are feeling problems like this then take it right to you dealership lol.

Ouch. Sounds like the clutch plates are worn out. Time for a rebuild! Better yet, swap that thing with a manual.

Dude... Honda does know about the problem... Go to Ownerlink on the Honda website. There is a message about the shitty auto trannies and something about a warranty extension on it. I didn't pay too much attention to it because I have a 5 speed, but there is something about it on there. You may want to look at it. Honda DOES know about the problems.

hey neoretro thanx man yeah I lvoe the graphic they look hot completely done. I will hopefully get a pic with them done soon.

Ok well I finally heard this back from honda. They are going to replace my transmission becaue they say it is shot to hell. and the strange codes they were reading was because when I had a shop hook up my air/fule ratio gauge they hooked it up the wrong part which blew my o2 sensor. and there were a few other things wrong with some wires but everything is ok now. BUt I called the store that put the air/fuel ratio on and told them the story and I have to find my receipt or go up there and make them find the original. So they can pay for all the crap I'm having to get fixed on my car. So far the total is coming out to $330.97 So if i find all the info I'm having the store that did it pay for it. and if they dont. I'M GOING TO SUE THEIR A$$ES OFF.

wusup sorry to hear about your tranny. did u find out more info on if they would swap a manual tranny for u? being as though auto cars cost like 1000 more generally.. it would be saving them money if they replaced it with an manual.
i had no choice wen purchasing my car becuase my dad need to drive it from time to time so i was forced to get auto. now we dont have that problem so im looking for a way to swap. i was thinking maybe i could trade my car in at the dealer (only 16000 miles) for the same car but with higher mileage maybe 30k's .. so maybe no money would have to be involved. just a a straight swap.. not sure if the dealer would be down with that since i have mods and they are kinda ****. but it would be win win. they get more valuable car (wen restored to stock) and i get my manual.
