Gold Line Announcement:
After careful consideration, Gold Line has changed the design on its spring kit for the 01 Civic (2 Door). The newly designed spring kit will be available as of Nov 29. The new design will retain a 1.75” drop but will yield even fender well gaps front to rear. This seems to be a common concern among Gold Line consumers. Gold Line takes customer feed back very seriously and felt an adjustment needed to be made. If you have any questions, please feel free in contacting Gold Line directly @ 877-671-9752.
Sincerely,
Gold Line Coil Springs

i'm guessing you guys are retaining the front springs but changing the rear springs? just wondering cause i want an idea of how the new springs would look. if this isnt the case, whats the difference from the old kit and the new? and the part numbers are going to be different right? what are the new part numbers so that consumers dont mistakenly buy the old one. would this change cause any mark-ups?
but ya all in all, i'm very impressed with how you guys deal with things. who knows maybe one day i'll make the switch to goldlines...
Ok, I'm getting the goldlines. What I need to know is whether or not getting front and rear camber kits are going to be worth it. I checked on goldlines site and the don't even have a reccomendation for align kits. I have 17" wheels w/215/40r wheels. Do I need them or not?

VNlilMan hit it on the nail. I hope the part no. is different because I don't want some shaddy shops selling me the old version when I want the newer ones. also, you said the 1.75" drop is the same, but people with goldlines say that the drop is more like 2" all around (not that it's bad).

The new part spring kit will retain the original part number. The individual spring numbers change for internal use but the kit number does not change. To answer the question about purchasing the "new design", I would recommend purchasing the spring kit through Tornactive.com. As of Nov. 30th, Rob will only be shipping the "new design". As far as price, the price of the kit will not change. In regards to the design change, we are making minor adjustments to the front & rear designs. This will yield the desired "even fender well gap". As I mentionedm, the overall drop will remain basically unchanged @ 1.75". If you have any other questions please let me know.

Gold Line

I just had mine installed. The goldline web site says a coupe does not need the rear camber kit, but they do. My alignmnent guy told me if I don't add the rear camber kit, my tires will be gone in MONTHS. The fronts were okay. Just the rears don't have enough camber to keep the inside of the tires from wearing out.
Mine have a harsh ride also. Shocks are in great shape, so I'm not sure what the deal is just yet.
Good luck.

Yo Goldline.
I just had my springs put on my car and the guy who installed them lost the receipt. What can I do? I haven't even put 100 miles on my car yet.
If nothing, I understand.
I also need to get ahold of Rob at tornactive to order a rear camber kit.
Thanks

I have an 02 civic, i really want the goldlines...I think im told its a 2" drop
I noticed right now with my 205/40/17s the wheel gap is higher in the back than the front..
My question is if its a 2" drop for all tires does that mean that the rear will stand a little bit higher than the front still?
I Do want it this way. Also im concerned about the camberkits also....a friend told me to jsut get front camber kits...but its better to get for all wheels? I dont know exactly what the camber kits do either.

its not a 2" drop... its a 1.75" drop as stated... but ya if it were dropped 1.75" on all sides the front gap would be bigger then the rear but its just an estimate/relatively 1.75". with the old goldlines, the front gap was smaller then the rear. so the new kit should correct this. it will probably be an even gap rather then the front being slightly bigger then the rear... if you want the rear gap to be bigger theres ways of doing it... i'm sure goldline can recommend the best way.
as for camber kits... i thought i explained it in the suspension FAQ. first off to explain what camber is... when you look from the rear of the car negative camber looks like this--> / \. the top of your tires tip towards the car. this causes uneven tire wear. you get negative camber anytime you lower your car, positive camber(just the opposite of negative... looks like \ /, where top of tires tip away from the car) when you raise the car. since you cant adjust the camber with stock components, you buy a camber kit so that you can correct it. i know we have front wheel drive cars so it sometimes makes people think the front is more important then the rear but on our cars, they changed the front suspension into mcpherson struts... with this setup, the camber is hardly effected when you drop the car. as for the rears we still have the wishbone setup and the camber changes alot. so ya the rear is more important then the front. you probably dont need the front with goldlines... the rears are recommended with the old goldlines... as for the new goldlines, its borderline.

so in other words... the wheel gap in the front wasn't the same as the wheel gap in the rear so they're changing it ??
i never really noticed... on top of that.. i kinda like my front dipping slightly foward from the back... it looks nicer imo..

well for some, they had the 1 finger gap in the front and the rear tires tucked(eh, i'm exaggerating a little but you get the point).. alot of people complained about this drop so they would call goldline and get a free set of sedan springs. i'm sure most of us dont like that look either. so ya i guess they're making the new springs so that the fender gap are even.
Goldline,
I have a brand new set of Goldline Springs that I purchased from Rob at Tornactive 1 month ago. I haven't installed them yet because I dont want my Kit/Car being a snow plow during the winters here in CT. Can I exchange my current springs (brand new) for the newer version?
Believe it or not, I haven't even opened up the box yet. Finally, if I am going to do an exchange, do I deal directly with you or Rob at Tornactive.
Please let me know.

I have a 6th gen but purchased goldline's kit that drops 2.25", i have no finger gap in my fender well and love it. Have not installed my camber kit yet either and my tires are wearing just fine. (going on 6,000 miles put on them)
Just make sure to get an alignment at least after drop and have them set your Toe to 0.

to the Goldline comp ! ! ! But what if we purchased the old version of the goldline? Any exchange with a little extra?? I'm very proud of my car drop....but it still have a bigger gap in the rear then in the front....! Those 2 doors springs at the back of our car are too low in my mind....with the xenon body kit....this is dangerous !
For the one who asking if he need a camber kit.....I put them and went to allign my car 3 weeks after....and there is no need to put a camber kit in the front...and no need too on the rear!!!!
