Did they ever fix the problem with their engines? Alot of the Spec V engines had to be totally replaced...they were burning oil WAAAAAAY fast.

i really dislike the SE-R's, IMO they're not all they're cracked up to be. it's up to you, though, so good luck. and come on, 17k for a LX? i paid 15k for a EX! my friend paid 17k for a SE-R spec V, also. please haggle with the dealers some more, man!

Good choice man, you got the best bang for your buck easily. I own a Sentra not a Spec-V but have been in the sentra community for a long time and boy are those quick and nice. Someone ran a 15.0 stock so those really have potential. And yes they do have the timeslips to prove it. As for as problems with the engine the 2002's since they were the first year of the engine had a piston ring seating problem and some engines would consume more oil than they should. The 2003's on the other hand has a different tranny and the engine problem is no more with a different interior. Some people say it feels faster but I haven't driven the 03's yet. Good luck and have fun. As far as you with the Talon, well of course you can beat a SPec-V you have freakin turbo you dumbass Those Talons sure are nice, just don't hate a sentra because they are quick, gees. Good luck man you will love it for sure. If you want any info on modding join b15sentra.net. Peace.

Whelp... good luck... I'll attest to Nissan reliability, I traded in my old Stanza with 134500 and my bro is still driving a 93 Max pushing 130K. I looked at the SE-R, it just looked and felt like it was built sh.i.tty (they're Mexican built, all the other Nissans we've owned were Japan built:thedevil and it just looks ugly. But I guess it was the best they could do with the Sentra they had to work with. I just think the body work should have been redone a little more and a little more performance tuning should have been done. Still has tiny brakes and comes from the dealer with 17's but no drop. But anyway, good luck with it, it should run for a while

Really? you can beat me if I dont use one of my power adders?!.. well my car will smoke you any day without the nitrous if you pull your turbo.. how about just a spark plug?

BTW kackass, i was refering to QUALITY. Even the 2Gs are notorious for falling appart... from the inside out. and yes this is when they were NEW.

Thank you for playing.

Yeah, i would just put an intake on that dual over head cam and i would be happy for the rest of the cars life. BTW, i raced my car against my roommates 94 infinity g20,which has the SE-R engine, who has an intake spark plugs/wires,and custom catback. he got a jump on me at first, but then once VTEC kicked in i pulled on him hard. Believe me i was surprised. However the new se-r will definitly romp a civic. I would buy one if it suited me too.
