LX hp header

this thread is mainly to see how many people have the HP header w/high flow cat on there LX 5-speed, i have read about the DIY and all the other things on the header

i want to know if anyone with a LX installed it without doing any cutting, if so did you have to pull the engine and install it, if that is the case of getting around not cutting i say that is the best way

when i look over the pics in the DIY, there is one pic that shows down in the engine bay and if you look the header is not even close to the motor mount, because if i get the HP header i am not going to cut anything, so i just want to make sure that it will fit before i waste my money, i will pull the engine to install if i have to

thanks for the info

I don't know who install HP header onto their LX but it will require some custom works. Such as you can't bolt your o2 sensor on the top piece of the header, and the lenght is diff, so you need to get a custom made extend pipe to have it bolt up. I don't know what else!

if you need to cut it just cut it, I had to cut mine but I'm not a LX I am Ex 5 speed, but I think it all has to deal with if you have a auto or manual....auto = small engine mount; manual = huge engine mount thus cutting is requiered this is what I have gathered from doing a search, but let me tell you this header is worth the money and time you need to do to get it installed, i just got done racing 2 of my friends, Accord (with H/I) we ran side by side with intake and intake but once he got his headers he was pulling on me by half a car length, well tonight we raced too see the difference between his headers and mine...... i smoked him by 1 1/2 car lengths sooooooooo i love this header and will love it more once I buy a exhaust system to throw onto the high flo cat.... just cut (shave) the engine mount if needed you'll won't regret it and in the mean time buy another engine mount to replace it thats what I am going to do soon.

i did it... its great. couldnt be happier with any of my mods. however it did take a bit of work. had to shave some of the engine mount and frame mount, as well as re-wire the o2 sensors. you'll also need to either purchase a new catback system designed for an EX trim coupe/sedan, or have a custom exhaust made to your specifications/desires. there is a full DIY on the install of this header on to EX and LX coupes and sedans posted up by OVERTHETOP. heres the page for the DIY...
