HP Racing 4-1 race header
HP Racing 4-1 race header
Is that a header cat and downpipe or just a header and cat? Could any shop do the engine modifications/how long? Would it connect from the engine all the way to a catback exhaust or would there be stock pieces in between. AND is there a space in between in and between in in between

as for you question, if u buy this exact header, you WILL NOT need any stock piping, assuming you already bought an aftermarket exhaust.
Now i already have a DC 4-1 header. And i hear everyone saying that the HP Racing header is alot better but isnt that because it also had the DP and cat with it? If i just got a (for example) Random DP/cat would i be at about the same HP gain or not? anyone know for sure?
What sets it apart from the others is the design of the header but most importantly the cat converter which prevents it from being street legal and "for track use only." You COULD get a seperate aftermarket high flow cat converter (I think from HP and maybe from another company) but I don't know how it'll work with other aftermarker headers.

Imo, no, you will not get the same power or even close to it. The hp is an equal-length, long-tube (race) design, with basically no cat.
The dc is a shorty design and if that random cat bolts up and doesn't throw the cel, than I doubt it is a whole lot less restrictive than stock. I would imagine the stock cat is pretty efficient on its own as honda pretty much maxed out all the other bolt-on parts on the ex model.
Edit: I noticed nopi sells the hp headers and such now. Seems like they have decent prices. Anybody checked with Euroelectronics.com to see what they will sell the hp race to 7thgen members for. I sent them email but haven't heard back.
This stinks that there back in stock. I need to buy speakers but I need this header....decisions..

Well, I am thinking that the hp downpipe was designed to basically be straight-through. So, I think they just threw enough material in there so they could call it a high-flow cat.
Yes, but you either have to get the EX stock cat back for an aftermarket one because it won't bolt up to the lx/dx from what I understand. I have an EX but I am basing that on what I have read.

on my LX, Im thinking of this.....first i will buy the tanabe hyper catback for LX, then when i get the money for a header....I'll buy the HP shorty 4-1 header and random downpipe. I should be able to just swap it in if the tanabe is just the EX version with the added downpipe.
I would just take out the unnecessary pipe, replace with Random, and bolt up HP header with lengthened 2nd sensor.....seem feasible?
isnt the magnaflow catback like that....LX/DX gets the EX model but with extra pipe to connect to the up front cat?
