my brake pedal rumbles against my foot..
I am taking my civic couple ex in for an oil change tomorrow at 17,000 miles. When I'm beginning to drive around a bend, and especially over bumps, as I depress the brake pedal and slow the car down there is a vibrational feel on the brake pedal.. it is a sharp rubbing against the bottom of my foot. It has been like this pretty much since I bought the car, and I thought at first maybe it was that I was driving too fast around corners sometimes.. But I am wondering if it is something else? I would appreciate any thoughts.. thanks!

Does your steering wheel vibrate at all when you depress the brake pedal??? It sounds almost as if your brake rotors are warped...but its unusual @ an early stage in the car's life...

Hrmm. Let's see here. You've got an EX. The EX comes with ABS. When you engage ABS, you'll feel the pedal underneath your foot vibrate or pulse a bit. What's happening is the controller is kicking on and engaging and disengaging the brakes very quickly. This is probably what you're experiencing, espically if you're braking hard into corners.

ummm... it could be either one of those... if you wash your car after riding the brakes hard, it'll make warp your rotors.... ABS has the same effect.... but def go check to see if your rotors are warped....

also if its the ABS, it makes a grinding noise when you engage it, atleast mine does. like if im braking over expansion joints, which we have more of than pennies around here, then itll usually engage on me, if its not making a noise when you brake its prolly a rotor, have them check it out
mine does the samething under normal braking. and when i brake a little harder the steering wheel will vibrate. i know i have warped rotors. these factory brakes wern't meant for any kind of agressive dirving.
