I am going to get a Boss Audio 4 channel 1000Watt amp and 2 Boss Audio 10" 800W subs. Is this a good combination? I'll be powering the 2 subs with 2 channels from the amp and the other 2 channels will power the stock front speakers. Good or bad?

be aware that that 1000 watt amp will prolly only give you about 200 or so, so lets not refer to it as a 1000 anymore =) boss likes to overrate their stuff waayyyyyyy too much... the amp will be fine to power the front speakers, but you probably wont be able to hear your 10's

I have one 10 and if it is built right (the enclosure) there is really no point in getting two 10's. My wife has 2 JL wo's 12's and mine is almost as loud as hers!!

Depends all on the sub dude.. and how much power your giving it..and cabin gain in the car..and a few other factors..

Stay away from Boss Junk..it's Junk..very cheap built quality.. very overrated stuff..those 800 watt subs can handle 800 watts peak for about 3 seconds before they blow..the puts out 1000 ILS watts (if lightning strikes) it realistically puts out about 350Wrms.. If your on a budget..go with US acoustics amps and find a sub you like..good low cost subs are Cerwin Vega HED's..JL W0 series..Memphis Powerbass subs..there's more too.. Cadence makes some nice entry level subs.. Kove does as well, Planet audio does too..Just not Boss, Audiovox, Pyramid, Pyle, or Legacy [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/IMG]

Most of the brands you listed we don't have here in Australia. I'm buying the Boss subs and amp coz they look good. I'm not too worried about sound quality. I just like the chrome look they have....it matches the chrome scheme of my car
