SiR is priced up there with the RSX because it's designed in Europe. I would prefer the RSX for the price/value/performance. SiR is sorta attractive now since it's still new and very rare on the streets, but the RSX seems to be a better choice, IMO.
I mean, think of it this way, would you rather own an Integra or a Civic for the same price?
I think Honda will need to come out with hatchback versions of the 7th Gen (SiR body) to grab that sector of the market again. The SiR is just overpriced.

i think honda should put the k20 engine and put it in the coupe and than sell it for 25500CAD, than ALOT of ppl will buy it and no one think its overpriced, well, and reduce 200lbs, hahaah, i certainly will trade in right away for this, haha

Is the performance of the RSX really any better than the SiR? It does have the same engine (not counting the RSX type S of course) doen't it (160hp) ?
I'd go with the SiR, IMO it looks better. The RSX 's back end is way too high.
As for performance, you can compare the SiR with the RSX Type S. However, with the same engine I think the SiR would be faster as its lighter.
And besides, a pimped out Hatch is always damn cool....

the SiR's run faster 1/4 times than RSX Type-S's.. the RSX's have a higher top speed and better 50-100km/h Times. I'd personally go with the RSX..the SiR looks like a mini-mini van..

I didn't think I liked the look of the SiR from the pics etc until I saw it in the showroom recently, it looks much better up close and in person I though, especially in Black
I think I've only seen it before that in Silver, which I didn't care for.

I'd go for the RSX.... SiR's look ugly... no wait... F-UGLY!!!
like what Mohawkboom said, it looks like a mini-mini van. Or a smaller version of the Honda Odyssey only it has an SiR badge in the back.
I think those lights on the SiR is the same size as the odyssey's...

Go with the RSX.
How can the 160 hp SiR run faster than the 200hp RSX type-S? I don't think so. The SiR is barely faster in the 1/4 than any other civic 16-17 second range. The RSX-S runs like 15 flat.

umm....i didnt test drive the SiR myself, but c&d, mt and edmunds all have slower 0-60 and 1/4 slower than the 6th gen SiR, and i dont think it'll be faster than the type S giving it 40 and 11 less torque and only like 80lbs lighter than the typeS, and i think typeS have a better gear ratio than the SiR, 6 spd

I don't think it's the price that contributes to the slow sales. People don't mind paying $26,000ish for a special high performance version of a Civic. Personally, I think it is the design. Hatchbacks itself isn't exactly a base for a performance car. But at least the previous ones were low-slung and had somewhat of a low hood. The new ones have no hood, just a big body--kind of like a minivan. People are calling it a "mini-me-Odessey."
As for the hatchback sales, Honda has given it all up to Madza Protege5, Toyota Matrix and Ford Focus.
SiR also posses no threat to the competition from a performance point of view--Matrix XRS accelerates faster, handles better, stops quicker and even offers more interior space; yet it is cheaper.
Honda would have done much better if they stuffed that 2.0L 160HP iVTEC motor into a COUPE--add OEM body kit, add 16" wheels, firmer suspension tuning, and ask for $26,000. People WOULD buy it.
(sorry, no offense to anyone who might drive a HB SiR here)
