arrRRgghh.. i just got my rims like a week ago.. and it has been raining a few days since.. now my cross drilled slotted rotors look all rusted over.. i mean they dont feel rusty they just look all brown now..!!.. ahh how would i clean or fix this? its sorta un avoidable becuase i have ADR reaction its a six spoke which leaves the rotors pretty open..

well... i drove around a lil bit.. and to my suprise after going once around the block the rusty stuff seem to have come off.. but my breaks felt a lil weird as expected going around.. i guess that stuff just rubbs off.. but i dont like the idea of it gettin all stuck and building up on my brake pads..

That happened to my buddy who just installed cross drilled w/ EBC pads on his Altima...seems like it is a normal occurrence...I mean, those rotors are under constant punishment from elements outside the car.

The high carbon steel which rotors are made of all rust very quickly..

New rotors, once you wash the oil coating off them will rust begin to rust in 10 minutes on a humid day.. Rub a white paper towel on one..and you'll see faint brown/red powder...it happens..

It be nothing to worry about. It'll work its way off the pads and stuff and not affect you in any way. Just look gross.

its steel, steel rusts, get some fine grit paper and sand a bit, then paint the rotor hubs with caliper paint or use a high temperature engine enamel paint , but the actual disc will always rust
