Heard this today on 680 news...

Supposed to be some conference going on to update the laws in Ontario.....

1) Illegal -> install used / defective airbags
2) Legal -> tinted headlights ... ?! (Does that mean those rice green/yellow/purple headlight bulbs are ok now?!)
3) Legal -> .... can't remember! [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/IMG] lowered cars????? Crap, I can't remember !

1) Refers to airbags already popped. Remember hearing about this, as some no-good companies were selling airbags used that were manually packed and used explosives (little quantity but not controlled) to pop... Killed a couple of ppl I think.

2) Don't see how, it's illegal in the US, so chances are it won't be legal here. I think they might be referring to amber lights or HID (hence blue-ish) or such, don't think all the other colours would be ok.

3) Lowered car has always been legal as long as clearance is more than 3"... Maybe it's just to clarify?? [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif[/IMG]

haha i think HID is illegal if it dont come out from the factory. i read some where that messing with ur headlight/head lamp is illegal. dunno thats what i heard but i would still invest dough in it!!

I heard aftermarket HIDs are illegal for the fact that they don't have automatic leveling system, and headlamp washing system. Those two components apparently play a critical role at reducing glare to the on coming traffic.

But then again, Sylvannia sells external HIDs (the Xenarc) and it is 100% street legal.. as well as some retro fit headlamp assemblies for F150s and such.

Who knows! All I know for a fact is that if it is not D.O.T. approved, it's not legal.

heard this from work:

$1500 fine for passenger at the back to sit in the middle even with seatbelts on. Confirmed with a judge and a lawyer.

Yeah, if it's a five-seater, then there's no reason it would be illegal. Plus, no-seatbelt fines are never more than $100.
