Rotas! They make some of the best knock off wheels out there! That is what I have. Subzero's in bronze 16's and they are 14.5 lbs a piece. Check them out in the members section. Check here for a good deal on these rims Click here!

I wanted 17's, so I chose Rota Attack wheels. They weigh 15.5lbs a piece. Wheels and tires cost me $950.

Since we're talking about light wheels, how much would some center line wheels cost? I heard the 17" weighs 13.5 lbs

Spoons are so expensive, don't even bother. Rota's are good wheels for the money, they're like half the price of spoons. Our cars are too slow to make every pound count, what difference does it make if rota's are one pound heavier? Mugen wheels are also very expensive. No need to get JDM if the alternative's more practical. For lightweight, go for 16". 17" are more for show and aren't performance-oriented.

I think it's better than paying full price. I'm just doing the suspension setup cause I think it looks better. Other than that it's a waste of my time and money, so I go for value more than name brand. I've never been a name brand guy.

I'm running 18" Centerline RPM's that only weigh 14.5 lbs each. They cost me $250 but the weight savings is definitely worth it.

I fail to see your argument: they're nasty BECAUSE they are imitation? Frankly I don't care if its a knock-off of another rim. It will have basically unnoticable performance improvement. Its for people who want to brag about having brand name rims.

But bragging about brand name rims when you have an econobox car seems a bit crass. It be like bragging about a Hugo Boss tie when you have a walmart suit and shirt.

I doubt Spoon even makes rims... it's like buying a Gucci watch. WTF does Gucci know about watches??? It ain't Seiko or Rolex.. on that same note, Spoon makes fantastic engines, and engine mods.. but... rims? They might be nice, but I think they get someone else to make it for them..

Rota on the other hand, makes rims, and specializes in them only... I think their product is good, and many can testify to that. Even though they might copy some styles, but they WORK, and do it at a significantly less cost for the consumers.

anyway in conclusion just buy the rotas, the spoons are a waste of money. rota happens to have very high standards for quality anyway

if im gonna drop down to 16's id rather make it worth it, than to save a few pounds. i.e., my EVO 5's are prolly around 17-19 lbs., the rotas are prolly around 14-16 lbs, and the spoons around 8 lbs. id rather pay the extra cash to have half the weight of the rotas. besides it prolly one of the few things spoon makes that will fit our cars.

i'm not sure if the spoons are even 8 lbs, and i also doubt they come in 16's. and if they do, they're gonna be insanely expensive - you're also paying for the spoon name.

here is a link for the spoon wheels, which im not getting, and the buddy club wheels, which i am getting

the 15" spoon's are about 8 lbs when converted from metric to standard, the 16's are a pound or 2 more. but the buddy club are lighter.

i dont care about price, they arent THAT much compared to oh spreewells

I have 15" rota subzeros and love the wheels themselves. I wish I would have gone with 16s but o'well. Anyhow, I haven't had any problems with them as far as quality. I have been over tons of potholes and no bending or damage. I think they are around 13lbs or so. I just know that when I take the wheels off the car and put them back on, I can handle them like a guy in the pits. They are so light that you don't even have to strain when you kneal down and position the wheel on the hub.

Spoon, RH, Volk.....very nice wheels but I just can't see putting $2000 wheels on a $16k civic.
