2k1 to 2k2 tape to cd conversion

Like the title says, will a CD player from a 2k1 civic fit in the tape player slot of the 2k2 civic? I haven't actually looked at my friend's car yet, but I'm looking for some positive assurance that this will be able to work. Lemme know if you've seen or heard of this being done easily...

Yup, should be no problem.

I've heard of people doing it and having it be a perfect fit but I've never seen it myself so I'm 99% sure it will.

Just wanted to throw down an update on this topic. Installed the factory cd player from my 2k1 civic coupe to a 2k2 civic sedan that had a tape player. Everything was totally straightforward. Just threw it in, switched the wiring harness, rummaged for the factory code and it worked like a charm. It was a little different taking off the console piece that has the power outlet on it but with enough prying it eventually came off.
