I made a friend today!
so im coming home from work today. kinda had to make a little stop at a cigar store to pick some cloves up..anyways...im going to the place and theres this nice 2 lane street going from the highway where there are never any cops and its usually pretty empty. so i get off the highway and go at my usual clip and woosh by this decked out 2001/02 maxima. it was white, nice body kit, exhaust, rims, possibly HIDs. in short, it was nice!! so i woosh by him, not racing, just going. i think he heard my exhaust cause right when i passed him he got behind me (not obnoxiously) and started pacing me. so im going pretty hard...50...60...70...slowed down for some cars that were stopped at a light that just changed from red to green...then went again. we took it to 105...past 100 thats for sure. he obviously passed me. i dont know if he was really racing or just bonding . but i was keeping up with him ...behind him no more than 2 car lengths, but keeping up.
then we both stopped at a red light when we got to it...he was making a right i was going straight. and i look over to give him a thumbs up for a spirrited drive...and he was doing the same thing to me!

Yep...gotta love guys like that, who really love cars and driving them fast. Lots of them in the DFW area. Sometimes I drive over to FT Worth on weekend nights just to spontaneously race/drive with other cool cars. I've made several good friends like that and shared some stories with them. You learn a lot about cars and driving like that too. Just this weekend I will go to the Texas Speedway with one of these friends to drive the new M-B E class...should be lots of fun!!
No one around here is like that. Someone else sees my car and they're automatically giving me the "My car's tighter than yours yo" look even thought they're driving an 89 CRX. MY car's only lowered/wheels/clears/grill too and I get a lot of SH*T. There's no "sportsmanship" around here. People with imports don't pull up and start talking to you, because they don't know anything.. After they saw F&F they took a credit card and left their car at a tuner shop and that's that.
Worst thing about the "import scene" = Egomaniacs. Especially since F&F

and if you've read my posts before about speeding and "racing" you would know that i only do it when i am confident that there is no danger in doing so. even so, fine i was speeding. so what? i bet you do to! so lay off. the point was that it was a cool interraction that doesnt happen all the time.
if youre gonna flame, flame someone who does this every day and brings his camera with him all the time just for the pure purpose of snapping a pic of the dude hes racing.

I love stories like this. It's so nice when people who are into cars can just get a long. I have been seeing a lot of people with nice cars around here lately, and they have all been nice to me cause I wave and smile now. Seems to work much better!
A little side note: saw this kid in a nice 6thgen at 7-11 tonight. He saw my keys when we were inside and asked if that white civic in the parking lot was mine. We had a nice little conversation...he was hot too! (But, I think that would be irrelevant to you guys!)

A similar thing happened with me and a silver RSX Type S... a HOT *** GIRL was in it! She was following me on the freeway while we were doing like 100+. Damn... if I could see HER again!

what i meantwas that I was flamed for wrecking my car. i admitted my fault and people still brought it to me. Someone else does something just as irresponsible and he's a hero... (no offense PBfoot).

No one said he is a hero and if he had messed up, I'm pretty sure everyone and their sister would've flamed him by now.
The point that he's making, and that some of us can relate to and identify with, is that there are plenty of guys and gals out there who are true auto enthusiasts, or gearheads, or motorheads, or car-guys, or whatever else you wanna call them, and whenever you encounter one of these people it is refreshingly different and much more satisfying to interact with them than some lame-a$$ poser who does not know a piston from a cam.
I'm sorry that you got flamed before but you DID mess up, your own admission of guilt notwithstanding. And you know how a lot of people here react to someone who messes up...
