...thats good, cause with $500CAD (thats what...like $300USD) you're not gonna get much (heck, even with large amounts of money you're not gonna get 170dB...)

It's gonna be hard to get two subs, an amp, wiring, and a box for $500CAD. Buy used stuff I guess.

And you'll surely be installing everythign yourself of course, and building your box too for $500. You might want to scale down to one 10" or 12"

500 canadian is how much US? and by the way, 170 db's... people dream of hitting levels like that... i think the record in a car is somewhere around that region... high 170's.. but dont quote me, i'm not a competition person

My online Canadian friend said that $500CAD is about $300USD.

I've heard the record was 177dB. There's a guy on www.carudioforum.com that gets 170's or so

well you could get two mtx 4000 subs which are decent and cheap and put em in a bandpass box (generic no brand name), and get a little two channel amp to push them. i got a coustic 2 channel amp for 150 us buckeroos, and also got 2 10" subs (mtx 4000) and a bandpass box for 120 us buckeroos. 270 bucks total, and it puts enough bass through the car for people to call the cops on me 1/2 mile away. in the boonys of course. oh and this stuff was brand new bought at a retail shop good deals abound especially now.

earthquake 300.1 $120 shipped
box $55 in parts
wire kit $36 shipped

stock speakers, stock radio

total: $336, $36 over budget, but itll hit harder and sound better than anything you can get at circuit city or best buy for that money, for sure.
