vtec and Oil???????

Just a quick question, is it true that the type of oil you use will determine when your civic will engage vtec?

I think the computer engages VTEC, I doubt it has anything to do with the oil.

I am not 100% sure but I think that vtec engages when oil pressure reaches a certain level. There is some part that the oil goes through that controls vtec. Remember jhonda that has the gude head and vtec wouldn't engage because this particular part was clogged with metal shavings?

honda makes the vtec's very sensitive therefore you need to change your oil everytime and on time. make sure its on schedule this is very important to your vtec performance.

Yes it is the oil routed thru somewhere that controls your VTEC but it's a gate opened by your computer after a certain RPM (5500 i think)
