I need some help please
Ok I just finished my system. Now I keep blowing the 30 amp fuse in the dist. block for my subs. I changed the ground to see if that would stop it (no help). It only happens when I turn the volume high. I had this same set up in another vehicle and it never blew fuses before. Anything I can try now? I'll tell you the set up if that helps.
4 ga. power from battery to 1 farad capacitor
4 ga. power to 2 fuse dist. block (30 amp)
8 ga. to lightning audio b400.4 amp for highs
8 ga. to MTX pro 3002 (600 rms) amp for subs
grounds are all 3 on one seat bolt
4 ga. from cap and 8 ga. for amps (ground)
the ground wire doesn't get hot to show resistance
I'm so confused I built this system with the confidence I got from this forum
This is the only problem I've had.
Thank You All. Any help would be great.

If it were me I'd add an inline fuse holder or atleast beef up the other two that keep blowing. And when you say.... 4 ga. power to 2 fuse dist. block (30 amp)...are u saying all you have is 2 30 amp fuses?

not sure whats wrong but it already sounds weird... if you have 2 30 amp fuses for each amp you should use a 60 amp fuse. just make sure your using the right fuse for each amp...

from my understanding if an amp uses 3 x 30 rated fuses, you would need a 90 rated fuse for the distribution block.. but then 3 x 30 for a 600wrms amp sounds like so much...

theoretically you would, but amps never really push all their power... if they did youd be listening to nice garbly distorted music... just maybe you might be peaking a bit over 30 amps on the sub amp, but if you do bust a 50 or 60 amp fuse on the block, then something is wrong
Thanks all. I actually went to a shop today and he said change the fuse to a 40amp and things would be fine. just not to go over 60amp because blowing 60amp or over would indicate a bigger problem. They didn't have any 40s in stock but I think my problem will be solved (I hope) You were dead on it Ludlam Theory
thanks
thanks
