Conumer reports comparo: Civic Si, Mini, SVT Focus, Newbeetle Turbo, Tiburon GT

I was reading it last night and glanced at their performance numbers
Acceleration for the Civic Si: 0-60........9.0 sec.
Quarter Mile.............16.9 sec.

Ouch! those guys don't know how to drive worth shiet.

For comparison:
SVT Focus did 0-60 in 8.4, 1/4 mile:16.7
Mini 0-60 in 9.6, 1/4 Mile: 17.5
New Beetle Turbo S 0-60 in 8.1, 1/4 mile: 16.2
Tiburon GT 0-60 in 7.9, 1/4 mile: 16.2

I wouldn't want to see how slow they would drive our cars.

That's BS. Motor Trend ran the Si 0-60 in 7.3 and a mid 15 sec. 1/4 mile.
Which Mini did they test? For the base 115 Hp mini that sounds right, but from the stuff they tested I'd guess it's the S/C Cooper S. Which should run much faster than that.

They tested the 115hp Mini, it says the 163hp one wasn't available in time for testing.

Its funny, if you look at the reliability rating for Ford, it says:

Reliability
Overall reliability for Ford Focus models has been much worse than average.

Heheh. There's Ford for you. They weren't impressed with the Si performance-wise. They just say that its "reliable enough for us to reccomend it".
