o acustom Enclosures

I'm tryn to get some ideas on what I should do. I'm prob gonna run one 10" and two amps. Can some of you guys post some pics of your custom enclosures. Please don't post pics if your $hit looks ghetto or if you did it yourself. Lookn for some show quality enclosures. Need some ideas.

Thanks,
Steve

what would be really neat is a floating box design. if you could get your installer to build a perfectly round, or maybe soccerball shaped box, posed on a pedastal in yoru spare tire well, "floating" maybe 4 inches off the floor, with the entire floor of the trunk redone in carpet to match yoru sides. the woofer would be installed in the surface of the ball, firing up or back or any direction you chose.

the amps installed also using a floating rack design on plexy floors on the edge of the spare tire well, on either side of teh box. i think that would look really neat

maybe a spare tire well box, exept with a custom grill made form plexi over the woofer, so the woofer is also sunk 2 inches below the floor, with the plexi grill that has a cutout of the brand logo of the woofer itself.

anps would be installed flush to the sides of the trunk, so you lose that bulbous nature of the trunk, appears much more rectangular, also al the wiring would be hidden and noone would be able to mess with your gain settings. this kind of amp rack you cna see all over the place on sounddomain.

one of my personall favorites would be a spare tire box with a fiberglass top, that fires straight up, but rather than a flat wooden baffle for the woofer, you cut out a ring for it, then raise it 5 inches above where the sides end, and use fiberglass to make a large hill out of the floor of yoru trunk. to top it off, the woofer would be installed magnet out, so the peak of the fiberglass trunk hill would be the magnet and vent pole of the woofer. pop your trunk to show off, its just this massive bulge structure in teh middle of yoru trunk.

if you built the fiberglass with clear resin and made darn sure there were NO bubbles in your layups, you could leave it sanded but unpainted. this would leave your enclosure translucent, and then when you open your trunk it fires a relay that turns on the neons inside the box. that light will glow from inside the box, filtered out through the translucent sides of the glass and making your entire box glow whatever color you chose for your scheme. amps you could place inside teh box as well, or you could install them outside, on teh sides, like before, or even bolted to the rear deck.

or a neato idea would be to build the amp rack on teh rear deck itself, hung so as not to see it, but the rear mounts would be on a linear actuator, so the amps would fold out into view when you open the trunk, or hit a buttong on your alarm keyfob, or a button in the trunk or cabin.

with teh press of that button again, the actuators would fold the amps back hidden from view, tucked nicely away under the rear deck.

woofer could be installed about anywhere.

last i can think of off the top of my head would be to mount the amps onto the trunk lid itself. woud make yoru lid heavy, but would take up ZERO trunk space, and make tuning super easy.

trunklid amprack instructions
