Edit: BTW, the 215 are only wider than the 205, same profile tire (45)

45 is the profile (series) of the tire, the tire size from edge of rim, to the tread is the same, they are both 45 series tires, 215's are just wider than 205's! they would look the same!! 

well, the 45 is the aspect ratio, the sidewall height is calculated by takign the aspect ratio and multiplying it by the width, so a 215/45 would have a (215*.45) mm tall sidewall, while a 205/45 would have a (205*.45)mm tall sidewall
205*.45 = 9.225 cm tall sidewall
215*.45 = 9.675 cm tall sidewall
205*.45 = 9.225 cm tall sidewall
215*.45 = 9.675 cm tall sidewall
