good components

Im looking for some replacement components. I dont really want to spend anymore than 500 for them. Any ideas? I heard MBQ Premiums and Infinity Perfects are good. any other suggestions?

this has been discussed more than the "which intake is better" topic...

Do you want something that installs easy?.. mind cutting up your doors a little.. How much power will you be runnign to them.. what kind of music do you liek most.. have you visited every local shop you could to demo what they have?

Most likely I would not be installing them. Mainly reason being im not very proficient in it as well as I wouldnt want to mess up
I want something that sounds good. I have heard the Infinity components which sound damn good, but I cant seem to find any stores around here that have the MBQ speakers.

I just ordered the MB Quart Premiums. When I get them in I will let you know how they fit and sound ( Ihave heard them in a shop and they sound good-even the DSDs sound really good too!). From what others have posted on the board the perfects are hard to get in because of the funky holes in the doors.

Check Ikesound or onlinecarstereo for good prices. Ike is a lil' cheaper but shipping takes weeks!!! So I probably will not get mine for a while. I had order subs from onlinecarstereo before and I got the stuff the next day!!

If you are in Cali, Al and Ed's Autosound have the Quarts. They are hella expensive so it is better to order online!

Ikes has even better prices on quarts and the perfects! Ikes also sells the MB quarts on Ebay for even cheaper, but you need to pay for shipping if you go the ebay route.

the MB Q Premums fit hasle free..just be 100% sure to mount the tweeter off axis or your ears may in fact bleed.

What do you mean by off axis? I would like to mount them in the tweeter holes that my EX had (which is where my Diamond Audio's are at right now)

On axis would bt the tweeter is directly facing you.. Off axis would eman you'd be listenign to the tweeter at at least a 45 degree angle

Hm that would be a problem considering they would be facing me
What about the infinty perfects? Are they not as good and I have heard they are a pain to get in the door.

Try going with a soft dome tweeter then. I love MBQ, but Boston is my Favorite, Rockford's fanatic Qs are nice as well, never been a fan of infinity.

The others you just mentioned are infamous for harsh tweeters..specially the bostons..I use to own them...

The infinity's are a huge hassle tog et to fit.

I just liked the Infinity perfect 12.1 I had. For the price it was great.
My Dad has the normal 6.5 refrence speakers and they sound quite good. Ill have to do some more looking around, as its been a while. Ill wait until I get some more money though for audio equpment before I really think about getting something better than what I have

ive heard the jl audio xr's in a store, and they sound pretty good, i think theyre pretty close to equal, but a little pricier than the jl's. but if u go jl, get the xr's because you might as well get the best for just a little more, but if u have a coupe, you can only get the rear 6x9's in the vr's. but they still sound good.

I was thinking of not bothering with rear speakers if I have good front speakers. We shall see though, because I need to find out how to fix my sub/amp (wherever the problem is) before I worry about upgrading my front speakers. Having no bass at all sucks

if you get XR's rearfill is completely redundant and unneccesary.

ya know, i took a look at the tweets on the way to work yesterday and the driver one is about at a 45 degree angle. the passenger one is pointed more towards you but its farther away so its not so bad

Check it out forget the Freakin Perfects, they suck. The MBQ are probably the best, but if you want somethig a little cheaper, check out the Boston Pro Series or the Rally Series. They sound so good. They will run about $399, but you can go online and find a good deal. Definetly look into the Boston, you can't go wrong with any of their products. They are a little pricy, but worth it. As far as i'm concerned, the infinity's are not that great. I've heard better.

So Gizmo . .... your looking for a replacements for ID's.

I am considering them right now. What don't you like
about them?

I am trying to decide between the M3's and the
Boston Pro's ....

Also, how do the ID's fit tweeterwise. Can you use
the stock A-Pillars?

Thanks ....
