Brakes squeeking and not as good as before

They squeek... and don't provide less stop than when it was new. I have 74,000km on it (about 46,000mi) and have no performed any service on it yet.

Do I need to just clean the pads & the rotors? Or do I need new pads all together? Thanks in advance for your help.

You have 46k and haven't replace the pads yet? I think that is about 90% of your problem right there. Plus, the squeeking is most likely coming from a little piece of metal that begins to touch the rotor as the pad nears the end of it's life letting you know to replace them. You rotors may need to be turned as well. Maybe a thorough cleaning and relubing of the calipers as well. Maybe some fresh brake fluid too. More than likely, you just need new pads.
