I'm gonna be fast.
I just off the phone with a shop here in Montreal. They've tuned a 2k1 Si Coupe to produce 215HP at the wheels with a 50shot of nitrous, Custom Pistons, new cams, headwork, 3 angle valve job using oversized valves. New TB.. All this for $4100CAD.
Doing the same to my DX Compression ratio would be increased to 11.2:1 and they say I should run about 145HP at the wheels without Nitrous (175BHP)
I need $$$
The civic they did the work on was Martin from DPB Performance in Lasalle. he runs a low-mid 14 1/4mile. 14.31 was his best..Muahaha..

That's a lot of money to be spending just for 215 horsepower...sheesh...use it as a downpayment on a fixer-upper and build yourself a real sports car if you want to spend that much money.
Just compare it to the Gude head package, then add Custom Pistons and ECU programming. I'm also gonna buy the HP Headers with high flow cat and )2 simulator..price wise..it's pretty cheap.. Gude head $1600US, Nitrous kit installed $500US. Custom forgeD pistons..???...but all that for $2800US...Not too shabby at all.. Plus the HP headers

He should run better than 14.3 for sure if hes got 215hp at the wheels.... a stock Si(EX) with nitrous will do the 1/4 mile in 14.6...
If it was a 14.3 w/o nitrous then I'd be impressed. Also please remember that the difference between an LX/DX and an Si on a dyno is 5 hp maximum... i've seen numbers as low as 2hp. Either way the difference is NOTHING

Gude claims a 30% increase..I'm not getting the Gude head..but a custom job...the Pistons decrease weight..increase compression, take much more heat so Nitrous can safely be used..

Actually, that's not that much money for that much horsepower. Probably the best horsepower to money rating I've seen yet. Do you own a 7th gen civic? Where's the enthusiasm?
It's gonna be awhile.. I just bought an engagement ring for my Fiancee to amke things 100% official..I still have to fix the damage on my car.. it may be awhile...but I'm getting this done for sure..eventually
I've posted several times about a shop that will give you the "D17 stage 2 package" for $3700. This includes and port/polish. 3 angle valve job, and lightening balancing of everything! They will blueprint and balance the whole thing. Consider it an overhaul on your motor... with everything from balanced and lightened pistons- to thicker valve sleeves. They also have the capability to make a stroker kit for our cars.. all they have to do is forge the rods needed. I personally recommend them from experience with past cars. Their website is www.Honda-Performance.com

sounds good for a 7th gen. but its still a lot of money for that kinda hp. I mean, 2,800 for 145hp? how much more do you need to spend for that 50 shot?
I wonder how long will we have to wait for performance and value to be on the same level...
Logan, if you wanted a civic that can be mod, u bought too new of a civic... the previous gen had like 10 times the amount of aftermarket than this generation... and its definitely more cost effective too.
I mean, yesterday I just drove a 95 ex pumping out well over 210 whp... running a greddy turbo at 11.5 psi... the car was easily 14 sec on the crappy stock firestone tires he had... and with better tires, I'm sure it'll be a 13 sec easily. it cost him like $2,400 in all...
makes me kinda jealous.
course, his mileage was like 12 mpg. lol.

the price includes the Nitrous kit..Spending $1000 for a body kit painted and installed is more redculous as it has no use . it's not that bad to have somethign that will run with B16A2's and B18C1's Which Swaps are about $5k CAD into older gen civics...so It's not a bad investment

It's still about 140-150HP at the wheels..then the shot of Nitrous.. a B16A2 only produces 138 Hories at the wheel...It'd be like drivign an Si with Nitrous..

his civic wont do that either. BTW a 5.7L LS1 Corvette can get above 26MPG if driven "lightly".
That sounds like a good option for your 2k1 civic, given the lack of other alternatives, although id say it would be cheaper, and faster to just put in forged pistons and a crank, then jet say an 80 wet. i bet you put down 200 whp.
BTW, how much did you pay for your car?

New crank rods and pistons and 80 wet will get me the same as what I'm doing now and a 50shot .. either way about 200 at the wheels with Nitrous..
