Nitrous laws in Illinois (or USA)

Anyone know what they are? I heard it's you can have tanks you just can't have them open while you're on the street. If a cop checks your tanks and they're open you get in big trouble. That's what I heard at least. I'm sure someone on here knows for sure tho.

So let's hear it

Yep...you can have tanks in the car (for track use, you know), just not open while on the street.

Nitrous completely illegal in New York State. Not even allowed to possess or transport it in a vehicle w/o the proper license endorsement. Result would be an impound, several summonses...

I know around here, i dont think the tank can be visable anywhere in the car. I know most people here hide it somehow in the trunk.

It doesn't really have anything to do with that. You are not permitted to transport a gas in New York State w/o the proper endorsement and license. You need a class A commerical operator license (CDL) with an endorsement to transport a gas.
