argh!!! driver's side mirror got scratched up bad!

i HATE parking spaces in apartment complexes!
i come back from school to find my drivers side mirror scratched up pretty bad. i think i know who did it (some stupid green camry...checked out his car and just happens to have a scratch on his passenger side mirror) but i have no evidence that he did.
any suggestions on what i should do? should i try confronting this guy, go to apt management, cops? i doubt touch up paint will work on this =/
i'll try posting a pic if i can borrow my friends digital camera. ARGH!~~~!!~~!H!~H!H~H!H i got my car one month ago and already its f.ucked up. i don't even have my plates for crying out loud!!!

that sucks. Dont confront anybody unless you have some good evidence of the person/car that did it. You dont want to make new enimies. Might be a dead end issue, jus take care of it, and be even more careful and hopefully it doesnt happen again.

take off the clearcoat around it, sand it down, and spraypaint it. put on a new layer of clearcoat and after a few days, several coats of wax. good as new, cost you about 10 bucks, and saves you from having a potential enemy.

I had that happen to me... I went to go get the plates and register my car... some a$$ opened their door in to the panel behind the driver side door... put a 4" dent in the sheet metal with only 900 miles on the car. Cost me $125 to have the body shop knock it out... Thank god for paintless dent removal, that panel would have been really expensive to paint. Unless you can prove it for sure, just fix it, remember who you think did it, and the next time you're driving in a friend's beater, open the door into the side of his car. It's a good lesson... park as far away from everyone as you can. If you can't avoid it, find a BMW and a Mercedes and park between them.

how come our civics' side mirrors are like part of the car's body while Accord and CR-V have folding SMs? In other countries, civics have folding SMs. Obviously, if you can fold the side mirrors, then this kind of trouble will be lessened.

I am thinking of replacing my side mirror of the Accords'. Do you think the Accord's SM will fit our cars?

Yeah, folding mirrors does help, and our cars should have them too. I'm guessing ours don't because Honda assumes our Civics are so teeny-tiny the mirrors won't be a problem with parking lots and such.
