Tommorow Court For Muffler Ticket [Aug 13, 2k2]

Need Help with my muffler Ticket!
Ok for those who remember, i got a ticket before because the cop said it was free-flowing, racing muffler, didn't say it was loud or anything....
Anywaz got my court date tommorow

Going with legal muffler bought from legal location with quote sheet that even formula honda sells these muffler, a couple of people have done this before and have won, hopefully i'll get lucky.

Rep Power: 302 If your exhaust is "straight through" ie. canister style. it is illegal. it is not illegal to sell or install an improper muffler though.
your only chance is that the cop doesn't show.
good luck. in any case...when you go to trial...if the cop does show...just tell the prosecutor that you replaced the muffler with your stock exhaust...if he asks for a receipt then just say its an axel back and you did it yourself. I dunno if he will believe you but it works with most other equipment tickets.

Rep Power: 0 do the cops have nothing better to do in T.O. than hand out tickets for a muffler...wtf, shouldn't they be worried about other important things, like, speeding or drinkin' and drivin'....haha...I can zip by the popo down here with the exhaust goin' and they just watch me drive by...
as for your ticket, just reschedule your court date, that way the cop probably won't show then...

My car is a bit loud but not really loud. Today I came up on a T-intersecttion and there was a cop doing radar on the other side of the road. When I took off from the stop sign I gave a little extra gas and the cop did nothing but point his radar gun at me to check my speed. I only made it up to 55 in a 50

Rep Power: 0 It is a muffler in which the exhaust passing through it does not do so through a series of pipes, chambers, bends or twists to deafen the noise created by the exhaust propelled through the unit.
The N1 has a straight pathway leading directly from the entry point of the exhaust to the exit point.
Apexi N1, 5 Zigen Fireballs and any other "rocket" shaped exhausts are big targets for police ESPECIALLY when installed on an angle that is highly visible that shows you obviously have a "rocket".

I asked Brian (TPR) this question before, everyone he knows who has a straight-through canister (rocket) has bit the bullet.
I guess you could put the stock back on, show up in court and say you've already fixed the violation. Maybe that will help some, then you "could" put it back on after. OR riskier even, don't take your car with you to court and say you've already changed it. BUT in most cases they HAVE TO see the car to drop the charge.
I've seen many cases in court where the judge will drop the charges if you've corrected the physical violation on the vehicle.

Rep Power: 0 so far i have 50/50 chance, i've been talking to some other people and they have all gotten off with this "improper muffler" thing......
knowing the cop i had, i don't think he'll be too smart...... as well most people have gotten off by have proof that its street legal, meaning the vendor said it was, unfortuantely i bought mines from the US, but i'm planning to get a quote from formula honda, hopefully i can get them to write street legal right on the quote slip...... i'll just have to see
