I want to get rims but i need some info

I want to get new rims for my 2002 Honda Civic EX. I dont want to have to lower my car or do anything else that would be necessary to put new rims on. What would be the largest size rims i can get without having to do any lowering, and not having my rims get scraped cause there so big.... I just want ordinary rims for regular every day driving and also how wide should they be?

you can do 19's and they will still fit in the car and everything but the tires will be very thin. also you dont have to lower ur car with any rims its just that it looks like a 4x4 because of how high the car rides and the wheel gap. look at members rides and you will see wat im talking about.

You can ride with 19's....but i wouldnt suggest drop. And be careful or else youll bend your rims easily! And be ready to chuck out 2500$

you don't have to lower it but it will look funny if you don't. Or you can do what i did and get rims that go straight on your tires. I have a 2k1 LX with 14-inch rims(!) Yes, 14 inch rims are possible and have gotten mega props on them. No lowering or new tires to buy!

get 18's, and the ride will be a little more responsive and a little "heavier" in the steering wheel, but it will be a little more responsive

I say 16's or 17,s because you wont loose any accelaration and w/ some 16' your acc will pick up because they will weight less, i got my girl some 17's on her 01 and it has better pick-up cause they are lighter than the steel wheels.

Lowering the car is not necessary when buying rims for your car. I had a friend that cracked open his transmission while driving over a speed bump at about 10MPH because his car was too low to the ground. It was an expensive lesson but definatly one that he would not forget anytime soon. As far as buying rims for a Civic, I'd go with 17"s. 18"s are little thin on the rubber, so you need to be extra careful when driving. If driving slower than usual and constantly watching the road for potholes or sunken in manholes which could possibly dent or bend your rims, transforming them into very expensive doorstops, is what you want, then by all means get 18"s. I'm not even going to comment on 19"s. Even with the 17"s on my car I am constantly watching the roads I drive on for potholes because the first set I bought got dented on the second day of purchase and had to be replaced.

Thnx for the info. I have a pair of 17's comming and didnt know that they were THAT sensitive! Roads where I live are pretty crappy and we have construction going on everywhere and as I think of it I can recall alot of times where I know I would have done some damage to my rims had I not had the stock 14's on.
