Where can I get a city-light kit? No strange colors or anything, just white to illuminate the hosuings witht the parking lights? Secondly, how do I install these things? Where do they get wired to and where do you install them? (obviously the headlights, but where?). Thanks

You can try ebay to get the city lights. As for the color white, I don't believe they come in white. The colors that I know of are blue, purple, red, green and orange. As to where you wire it, you can tap the wires into your corner lights so when they go on the city lights will go on, or you can wire it all the way to your fuse box.

ever see a jag or mercedes around dusk or when light is low, looks like the headlights are extremely dim, those are city lights, they basially just illuminate the headlight housing when the parking lights are on. its for times when ambient light is low and doesnt require the full use of your headlights. its a safety thing on luxury cars. increases your visibility for other drivers.

No, day-time running lights is basially just having your headlights on. These are small bulbs mounted in the body of the headlight hosuing to just barely illuminate the housing. They dont provide enough light to show YOU where your going, just to show other that your there. It's the european equivalent of parking lights. In many european countries, having amber parking lights is illegal, hence, the stock clear lights on most of those cars in those countries. On a lot of cars, companies would get around this law by having these small city-lights illuminated AND they would have amber turn lenses, but they would only illuminate when turning. its confusing. but, its not DRL. This also gave way to BMW's halo system, or angel eyes. Next time you see a newer jag or benz, like the X-type or whatever around dusk or when the light is getting low, look at the headlights, if they are on, the headlights will look really dim, just lit up enough that inner housing is illuminated. those things you see on Ebay are just the ghetto version in typical ghetto-colored fashion. the real ones are just normal clear bulbs.

ok, that's a better explanation. kinda like DRLs but they only turn on at dusk.
