Got 4 Rota Attacks but no lug nuts, help w/lugs!

My Rota Attacks 15x6.5 4x100 came in yesterday. I open the boxes, no lug nuts. Now I have an appointment with a tire shop to mount tires on these rims and I got no lug nuts. Do I just pick up any lug nuts at an auto parts store (11x16's or 3/4")? How do I know they 're going to fit ok? What kind should I look for, plain old steel, polished, aluminum (do they make them?), what?

I 've ordered about 6-7 sets of wheels in my life and they all came with lug nuts so I 'm kind of PO'd these didn't but the price was decent w/shipping included. BTW, these are fairly light, I picked them up and they 're bit lighter than my Kosei K1s 15x7" that I have on my GSR. I weighed them on my bathroom scale and it showed about 12.5lbs. The shop I bought them from said they weighed them at 12.7-12.8lbs which is about right because I have a $15 scale in my house and I 'm sure it's not too accurate. Nice clean wheel. I hope I can keep 'em that way. Any help with the lugs would be appreciated guys! This is for my '01 EX coupe.

I'm sure the tire shop would be happy to sell you some lugnuts. Otherwise, go to an auto parts store.

I can almost garuntee the shop that is doing the install will have some they will sell you or if they are cool like my shop they will hook them up free. If you go to a part store you may run into a problem because depending on the rim you have the lug will vary. There are three kinds of lugs I can think of and all rims are different.

Thanks guys are right. It's the simplest things we overlook sometimes. I called the tire shop and they said they have all kinds of lug nuts and they 'll beat any auto part store's prices. I should 've thought of that because when you walk in they have about 20 different rims on display (duh!). They wouldn't give them to me for free though.. I tried
My appointment is in an hour so I can relax now. These RE950 195-60-15s I got from Tirerack look pretty good. I can't wait to throw those crappy stock tires out, and with the lighter wider rims the car should handle much better. The only thing remaining to fix is the bunny hopping and bouncing that's getting to me more and more lately, but traction came first..
I 'll take some pics of the car with the attacks and post them in a week or 2. I got the silver ones so it won't be anything flashy. I got the wheels from Revolution Motorsports that is running a special on the groupbuycenter. $475 shipped if anyone is interested. I got them in 4 business days after I ordered and they 're on the west coast. I just hope they 're strong enough for every day driving.

I'm thinking that those rims are going to be lug centric. I'm thinking that they are going to require "tuner" style lugnuts. The import shops usually have them in stock but I seriously doubt that a ntb or pep boys or somewhere will have the tuner style.

I didn't get any lugs with my rota subs either. I had a set of regular lugs that National Tire and Battery put on but they didn't fit quite right. My steering wheel buzzed and shook like crazy. Put the tuner lugs on and eliminated it. You just have to really put them on in the criss cross pattern and tighten them a little at a time.

Anyhow, I though the 15" attack was supposed to weigh 9-10 lbs, No?

They didn't use the right lugs then. You should have gone back and had them put the right ones on.

What kind of tires did you get? I'm sorry but you paid way to much for 15's. I got my 17s for $415 with mounting, balance and lugs. Either way good luck.

Nope, they lied. When I called Revolution Motorsports who are running a groupbuy now, I asked if they really weighed 9-10lbs because I wasn't sure I wanted such ultralight wheels because they bend easily. They said "sorry, it was an estimate. ROTA told us they 're ultralight so we guessed". They said they weighed them themselves and got 12.7-12.8lbs. That's find by me and at least 4lbs lighter than the stock steel ones.
Anyway, the Tire shop (STS) put on the exact same lugnuts (chrome 19mm-3/4") that Tirerack had shipped with the Kosei K1s I ordered last year for my GSR. They called me into the shop to tell me that there's not much room for a socket and that they might scratch the rims. Then they tried to sell me I think the ones you 're talking about that is a kit and comes with its own socket. These lugnuts had multiple ridges and the head (end of the lug that faces the rotor) spun around indefinitely. They wanted $55 so I said no. They basically were much skinnier and gave much more room between the lug nut and the rim so you can't scratch the rim while torquing them. I said give me a thin (I forgot to bring my torque wrench) Kraftsman 19mm socket and I 'll torque them myself by hand. They were happy to do that because they didn't want to get blamed for scratching them. It worked out fine. There was about 1mm on either side of the socket and I didn't scratch the rims at all.
BTW, I 'm not sure these Attacks look that good on my blue Civic EX coupe. They look like they 're missing a 6th spoke or something. I 'll get used to them though..

What do you mean 4lbs? The steel wheels weigh at least 20 lbs! Have you weighed them or something. Most people say that they weigh 24lbs, but I got 21 on the bathroom scale with the cap. It is a somewhat high-end scale. I am going to take one with me the next time I go to the post office and see what the digital scale says.

I wasn't to sure about my subzeros either. However, they are light and look decent. I just wish I had gone with a 16" rim now. I think I may sell the 15s and get the 16" subs in a few months. Have any idea what typical 16" tires weigh?

Hey, post some pics up of the new wheels!

Those are what are commonly refered to as wheel locks. The most definatly are not worth $55 though. I have those on my rims. The biggest problems with them is that if you don't have the key you can't take off the rims.

Side note when you put new rims on a car (rims that have never been mounted on a car) you are supose to have them retorqued after aproximatly 50-100 miles. In case they didn't tell you that. It isn't a huge deal or anything but just a good idea.

thanks 2cute, but this is my 7th set of alloy wheels that I 've purchased and I know all about torquing, retorquing and stuff. I torque my wheels every 2-3 weeks.
Yeah $55 was too much. I paid them a buck a piece ($16) for the regular ones and I know they 'll hold up well because I 've had them on my K1s (Integra) for almost a year & a half now and I race that car a lot (not on the street).
The lug kit they showed me was not a real wheel lock kit and I think they called them centric locks or something like that. It's true though that unless you have that special socket, you can't get them off. I have to say one thing though, they were extremely light but they can kiss my *** with their $55 price tag. If they were around $30 I would 've grabbed them and used them on my GSR for when I race. Every ounce less counts :-)
