OEM Folding Side Mirrors - And other Hybrid tidbits I noticed

Disclaimer: Please don't flame me if it's already been posted, I did search.

I was at the Honda dealer today picking up my loaner car (they didn't finish my warrenteed strut replacement in time), when I noticed the Hybrid Civ in the showroom has OEM folding side mirrors. They are also powered (the mirror, not the folding) so it should be just a bolt on replacement. Hmm, I wonder how much they cost....

Other interior differences I noted (besides that sweet cluster) are chrome door handles (the part you pull to open the door, not the part where my friends hold on for dear life ), chrome trim peice around the shifter, chrome accents on the parking brake handle (maybe on the shifter too, but I didn't look too closely).

Another wierd thing was this trapezoidal vent thingy on the rear deck. Probably just a vent for all the electronics they have mounted to the back seat.

The last small difference I noted (differrent than my 2k1 sedan at least) was body colored washer nozzles.

I was pissed when I realized my side mirrors didn't fold.

Dammit, I'm still pissed.

the hybrid mirrors will probably NOT fit the coupes... i wanted those too.

the coupes have a steeper windsheild slope than the sedans, therefore the hybrid mirrors are more 'upright': the angles are different if you know what i'm talking about.

Hey Flex,

Are the JDM Hybrid tails different than the US Hybrid tails? I thought I saw a pic of a Phillipino sedan with hybrid-like tails, but the turn signal lens is yellow (what I prefer), not red. I was thinking these are the asian market tails.

not only that, I believe the folding mechanism is powered also. I've seen it on other cars in taiwan.. that's how crazy traffic is over there

this is an extrememly stupid question. what is the big deal about having the folding mirrors? i had them on my last two cars and i never utilized their folding capabilities. power folding mechanism on the other hand...that's just plain cool.

My mom's 94 S Class has power folding mirrors. They're nice because when you park, there's always the chance that someone will bang them out. Plus whenever people see me folding or unfolding the mirrors they're like .
