So if I go to the dealership I can buy just the springs and shocks and have them put them on? Do you know if it will handle better than Konis with springs and about how much should just the springs and shocks cost?

i eventually got to the Honda Press site that you, vnlilman, were kind enough to provide.

i was actually hoping for more images of this however, and if possible, large enough a resolution so that i can photoshop it without losing too much image quality:

Concept Civic
Civic Concept uses suspension tuning similar to the new Sport suspension package from Honda Accessories
so i'm guessing its not the actual package. it also has bigger tires and a kit so its harder to tell how it would look on a stock car. 29,mm isn't even all that much. thats probably a similar drop to the eibach pro-kit... 1.2-1.4" drop.

altough the website says 1.0 for prokit and 1.4 for sportlines, people have claimed prokit dropped anywhere from 1.2-1.3 and sportlines 1.6-1.8. we could argue this but i guess till someone actually measures it we wont know the exact drop... even from the pictures sportlines look more like a neuspeed sport drop(1.7/1.5) rather then h&r sport(1.3)

i have spoken to parts and service guy working @ a honda dealership here in vancouver, bc.

he seemed kind of 'bamboozled' by my question of a suspension upgrade for the 2k2 civic. he did however say he'd get back to me on any information he can gather.

I really like the kit on that Civic. What is it? Overall very nice looking car. BTW my opinion is that if you want a sport suspension: do it yourself. Honda engineer's job is not to maximize handling or HP or anything except profit. These cars are and will be engineered to provide reliable motion for us and maximum profit for Honda. Really take a look at the components on your car. Battery, alternator, starter, struts. They are all good parts, from reputable manufacturers like Denso, KYB etc. But they are the lowest COST option that Honda could have chose. Back to the performance kit: Honda says light weight wheels. Right, my guess is 18 to 20 lbs which is a 16 to 24 lb weight loss from stock, but lightweight? No way. Same will go for every other component: it will be massively mass produced and lowest COST that Honda can find that meets their dependability (planned failure) requirements. Back to my point: Do it yourself. It will be less expensive and you will have better components that will last longer, if not the life of your car.

Honda had a contest type of thing to see which dealers got to sell the special Civic. I think it's called "Factory Performance" or something. I saw one today at my dealership. It looked good. The 16 inch rims look really good, and it's not too low, but MUCH better than stock. I'm suprised that the rear lower sway bar looked the same size. On the interior it is the metal look dash and vent kit, and the Entire center console. It also had the titanium shift **** but instead of the H logo it had "FP" etched into it. It also had special pinstriping - but that might just be my dealership. I talked to the parts guy to see if I could get anything for my car because our local SCCA guys set up 25% off all parts at that dealership, but he said it had to be purchased with a new 2002 EX - like stated before. As of now he said you can't even buy the Rims without the whole 2002 EX package. It is worth checking out though if your local dealer has one. If you are around El Paso TX check out Rudolph Honda.

If you're refering to what I wrote, I'll try to be a little more clear. <--And I don't mean that in a sarcastic way at all - I don't need anyone else here thinking I was insulting them. The concept car is totally different than the Factory Performance car I'm talking about. I WISH they had one of those concept Civics. The 16 inch wheels on the F.P. Civic will directly bolt on our cars. The F.P. Civic has no brake upgrades or hub changes at all. If I can borrow a digi-cam this weekend, I'll see if I can make it out there to get a couple of nice pics.
