RedDragon, I almost ended up with gunmetal VX8s, but my silver ones came in. I think it depends on what the rest of your car looks like. My car is red too. I think it will look good! Do the d@mn thing!

They are amazing wheels - except for the weight. I was on the phone with Velox and the gave me the following info. for the VX8R (I believe the 8's are about the same weight...
16" weights about 17.5 lbs. 17" weights about 18.5 lbs. 18" weights about 20 lbs.

If they were a bit lighter they would already be on my car!

1jazzyciv: I think there is a difference in the weight of the VX8s. The VX8R is a race wheel and it is lighter than the regular VX8. I may be wrong but I think it is so. Also there is a S or special edition that comes in black.
