nuespeed sport problem
im sure everyone here has heard by now of the sedan coupe difference problem with neuspeed sports. well i got the correct springs from neuspeed for the rear of my coupe and it still sits high in the rear. (the front is 1 finger, the rear is 2-1/2.) wondering if anyone has any sugestions on what to do. i am really pissed off now at neuspeed and am about to cut the springs.

hey, someone else was having the same problem you are.
The other thread
i dont know if theyre still on backorder or not, but you might want to call neuspeed and see if they actually sent you the right ones.
hope you figure it out. good luck

hmm... now i'm starting to think they cut my coils(i took it to them and they "replaced" it for free, installation and everything)... hopefully i'll be able to see it just by getting under the car.

the part number is also printed on the spring but i'm thinking hawk called up neuspeed and exchanged his springs so i doubt they would have a box for it.
the only thing different between the sedan and coupe springs is that the coupe is lower. before they only had one kit, it was fine on sedans but on the coupe, people(including me) were complaining that the back was to high so they came out with a kit for the coupe making the old one for the sedan.

your car doesn't even look like its lowered well maybe the back a lil.... looks like you have a 3 finger gap on all sides.
when i had the 4 door kit my back looked a lil higher then yours and the front was/is much lower then yours

I've been hearing a lot of Neuspeed problems lately. Is it a general consensus to go with something else?
I haven't heard many people say anything about Eibach except that they might be a little too expensive.
What brands should I consider when I decide to buy some?

not exactly sure what problems you've been hearing about but the only ones i've heard about was caused by the whole making of the new coupe springs. this only goes for previous buyers tho. just make sure you get the right set of springs and you should be fine.
Well your right it was about the whole previous model and stuff. Maybe it was just me, but it seemed like it was more than that.
But you're saying that the Neuspeed Sport springs for the coupe are great springs and that they don't have any problems with them? Just to clear my confusion up.

ya they are great springs, only thing is they aren't as low as i would like them to be. they ride pretty nice on stock shocks and i dont scrape at all. i wish i would have gotten the race tho. i dont think the ride would be as nice as sports but it cant be that badd, and the drop would make up for it so... but other then that they are great springs for a great price.

i just tried measuring it... its not that easy. but i estimated about an inch gap. so that would make it less then 2 finger gap. maybe like 1 1/2 with my fingers. so i guess 1 with your finger in the front would be about right... but ya the back 1 compared to 2 1/2 is alot. i'm pretty sure they sent you the sedan ones again.

Just noticed the mod status, congrats
Yea supermex has the neuspeeds cut, can't find a pic but its really low in person. Anyways, my sub box pushes my back end down a fraction of an inch now so that should cancel out a bit of the difference. It really doesn't matter to me, oh well.

thanks, first people to congrat me....
sorry you guys have been having trouble with neuspeed. my personal experience, i thought they were a great company. talked to two people, one just a regular worker and the other joe the manager of sales. they were both really nice and had no problems with me wanting to change my springs. their headquarters were an hour away so i made an appointment for the upcoming tuesday, went, got it done in an hour n got out. i'm thinking its because i was the first one to ask for this. but ya i'm sure cutting the bottom coil(s) won't affect the ride because they touch together when its on the car anyways. someone correct me if i'm wrong tho.
btw anyone know how much it costs to cut your springs? hey i might be a mod but just like everyone else i got alot to learn.

cutting springs isn't something most shops like to do becaue it srews up the spring rate of the coil. so there really is no price, i can give you at least. My friend works at a gas station, and has a cutting wheel, and a lift, so im doin there for nuthin. Well execpt the cost of a wendys value meal
Cutting it won't affect the spring rate 'cause there are 'dead coils on one side of the neuspeed sports (sedan model) as I was told by a neuspeed rep.
I just finished taking apart my rear suspension this afternoon and have cut one coil off each side of the rears. The part to cut is the bottom where the coils are closely packed together. They were easily cut with a dremel tool and heavy duty cutting wheel.
The result is amazing. It looks a million times better now and has an even drop (2 finger gap all around).
I have a coupe but originally had the sedan springs installed. Now that I've cut them it looks awesome. Pics will be up soon so you guys can see. I'm very happy with the ride too.
