Wheels and tires 2012 lx
I used to own a 2002 coupe lx and in 2019 i switch it for a 2012 coupe lx
i still have a set of tires for my 2002 (185/65 r15 88t) and the ones on the 2012 are due .
both are 15 inch but the ones from the 2002 would drop the 2012 lower . Would it be safe living in montreal city of construction and pothole? Could i put 185/65 r15 88t on a 2012 civic coupelx

Re: Wheels and tires 2012 lx
The 195s have a diameter of ~25" and the 185s have a diameter of ~24.5", that's a 2% difference. Meaning your speedometer will read 2% more than your actual speed (50 mph when your actual speed is 49 mph). Your odometer will also begin counting 2% faster (for every 1000 miles the odometer increases you will have only actually driven 980 miles). Usually when changing tire size they recommend sticking within 3% diameter which yours would be.
As long as you're not bothered by that there shouldn't be any major issue. You will also see a small loss in traction and increased braking distance due to the 10 mm narrower tire.

Having driven in Montreal I wouldn't want to risk having the car sit any lower. But you live there so it's your call
