Scanner

I have a 1989 Civic Si. Would the purchase of an OBD1 scanner help to maintain the car, or is it a waste of money?

Since the car is not OBD1, it would be a waste of money. It's OBD0.

Happy to help. For future reference (and for any readers in the future), OBD1 starts in 1991 and then OBD2 starts in 1996.
