Jdm & rpm higher than normal

Had a swap to jdm on a 05 lx and beside having engine light coming on the rpms are like over 3000rpm at 70mph and 3500rpm at 80mph, this is killing me all I wish is it was lower than it used to prior this, damn I'm all about for economy on fuel.
is there a way to adjust this rpm problem? Does the range sensor have any to do with it ? Or other sensor?
