I have been researching the rebuild of my 1992 VX's engine. There are a handful of kits out there and I was wondering if anyone had recommendations as to brands/retailers? I'm doing a factory spec resto on the car so I am not looking for any performance kits.

...if you're going to spend the time and money on a rebuild, I'd go OEM (if you can find parts). Buy once cry once.

All for it & 100% agree. As you eluded to, finding the parts is the hard part. Honda isn't exactly supporting these cars any longer.

You can probably still get the headgasket/timing belt/waterpump/tensioner set from honda.

ARP makes some amazing head studs.

I'd leave the valves if they seal.

The valve seals, and, front/rear main crank seals can be any trusted generic automotive brand. Same with the basic seals (Intake, exhaust, vtec ect...)

The main things to research will be the main bearings/rod bearings ,and, the piston rings. Finding a good brand for this is key.

Good info, thanks. It looks like hondapartsnow.com may have OEM bearings. I will check tomorrow.
