In the summer, I always have a small bottle of Meguiars Quick Detailer in my trunk.
You can remove the bird poops simply by water. This is what I do, I wet a napkin and place it on top of the poops. Wait 2-3 minutes and wipe it off.

Yes, wax will definitely help.
Use the wet napkin, make sure the poop doesn’t stay on your paint for long. Otherwise, the acid will etch the paiint and leaves a permanent mark.
