White smoke and black oil from tail
White smoke and black oil from tail
I was drivning my Honda Civic 2002 and slowed down behind a truck but as I accelerated there was white smoke from the tail of my car exhaust. I parked the car, check to found black oil in the tail and the car engine did not start. What could have been the issue?

Re: White smoke and black oil from tail
Did you try starting while holding down the gas pedal to wide open throttle (WOT) in case one or more cylinders was flooded with gas?
White smoke could mean coolant in cylinder(s). Black oil/soot in tail pipe could be from a rich running condition and/or burning excessive oil.
Did you get it started or have to get a tow?
Any CEL lights?
