Ignition Output Signal

1994 Honda Civic VX

What could cause my car to randomly die and give code 15: ignition output signal. It used to do it occasionally and then I could start it right up but last time it happened I had to get a tow home. Of course the next day it started right up.

I replace the coil and the ingitor control module as well as the plugs, cap and rotor.

What is the part called that picks up the signal from the rotating distributor shaft? It is the only thing inside my distributor that I have not replaced yet.

The car does not give any indication that the ignition (key) has any issues.

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Todd
