95 Civic DX "race"-tuned Automatic
Hello, I'm new here.
I am the new owner of a 95 Civic DX with automatic transmission. The previous-previous owner souped this thing up in a lot of...questionable ways. One of these ways is particularly annoying-- the transmission seems to shift late, causing the engine to rev high (and loud).
The previous owner told me that a mechanic looked at it and said it was not a problem, and a minor thing to put back. I'm not going to be shocked if that was BS, but I'm hoping it's true. The trouble is, I don't know what this mod would be called, or how to search for a fix.
Has anyone heard of a mod like that, to make an automatic tranny sound like a manual? Or is there just something wrong? Cheers!

My first guess would be that someone was jacking with the cable attached to the throttle body that leads to the trans.
You may see a cleaner spot on the adjustment threads where the locknuts used to be if you look close.
