light engine bay smoke after gasket change

Ok well i never could quite pin point the overheating issue, so i have changed every seal under the sun in this car. I finally got it started today i made sure i checked the torque on the head bolts and made sure everything was installed and clipped in. She threw a little white out the exhaust when i started the car but it disapated very fast so im assuming just some coolant from the head gasket change. I started the car got the coolant topped up with no bubbles coming out. But i noticed when the engine heated up the bay had a light smoke coming from around the head, when i say light i mean like a mild haze not a ploom of white smoke. I paniced and shut the car off like any noob, she sounded like she was running fine didnt hear anything out of the ordinary but panic sets in quick after all this work. I checked the head for warping in about 50 spots and angles with a feeler gauge and it passed with flying colors, also the smoke did not smell sweet just light white smoke. So i guess my question is whether it is normal after doing that type of job for there to be a little smoke?

Any thoughts would be great thank you.(

Normal. There's a lot of oil and coolant that can get spilled during a big job like that, it all has to burn off when the engine heats up a few times.

If there aren't any new leaks it will subside soon enough.

Re: light engine bay smoke after gasket change

Thank you for the input it put my my mind at ease, it had been coming from everywhere even the headers which makes sense touched them with oily hands lol. Just out of curiosity i would assume where the original leak zone was will take the longest to stop with that light smoke? I am sure alot of coolant and oil are in that area. What do you think would be a fair chance to give the car to burn it off? Like i drove it around for about 25min at fairly low speeds about 60kph about 40mph nothing crazy when i parked i opened the hood not really a ploom of smoke just the standard that was trapped under the hood and it is just coming off the intake area passenger side where the original disaster started. Let me.know what you think thanks.

How long it takes will depend on where the mess is and how hot it gets there.

It's gotta cook off, and not everything gets as hot as the exhaust. Any areas that can't cook off the residues will remain oily or have moist stains.

A day for some people, a week for others?
