I have a three inch straight pipe exhaust on my 2000 ex. I live in maine where the exhaust laws are ridiculous. I've been pulled over twice for my exhaust and I'm sick of it. I'd like to buy a silencer but not off the Internet, but I can't find anywhere in the portland area that sells silencers. If I can't find one do you have any ideas how i could make one? I've heard of using steel wool but I don't want to drill into my exhaust to put the nail in that would hold the wool in place. I also had my own idea of using an exhaust connector and filling it with silicon caulk and leaving a 1.25" hole. Anywhere I can buy silencers? Ideas on how to make my own?

The silicone will not stand up to the exhaust heat.

I thought Pep-Boys sold them?

Buy a proper exhaust. Put a resonator on the car. Check out Vibrant, they make a resonator that you can get welded into your existing exhaust.

I have a 3 inch catless exhaust, straight pipe all the way back. I've been pulled over twice for it now so I'm looking for a silencer. It's a slightly slanted tip so I'm having a tough time finding a silencer. Reviews and links to pages where I can buy a good silencer are much appreciated.

You can buy silencer from eBay and Amazon.
