p1361 on honda civic 2002 lx
Hi All,
I recently purchased a used honda civic 2002 lx. I drive for about 10 or 15 minutes and all of sudden check engine light comes on and it is in limp mode. Water pump and timing belt has not been replaced but it only has 99500 miles on it. My frustration is understanding what sensor is the issue. Is it the cam or crank shaft sensor? I bought a chilton manual but it doesn't even have the code in it! I am trying to find good wiring diagrams to troubleshoot the wiring as well. Please let me know anything else I can try or should know.
Thanks!

P1361 is defined as CMP (cam) position sensor intermittent interruption.
It's already well past due for the timing belt job.
Get a cam sensor from a dealership and replace it all (t-belt job and cam sensor) at the same time if you want to try tossing the part at it first. Otherwise, the service manual has a ton of steps to verify voltages and wire integrity.
