Question New to the fourms

If i want to start modding my car for performance what should I install first...? I have a d16y7 and I intend on seeing how fast I can make it go.

I already have a Borla catback Exhaust

Welcome to the forum.

Best way to make it as fast as possible, turbo, motor swap.

Bolt ons for a D16 just not worth it....But I would put a y8 Head on it to start. Then if you plan to stay n/a i guess do your headers, exhaust, an Intake. But if your going to put performance Intake manifold, and Throttle body on, its just going to make it loud...not really faster. There isn't enough power in the engine to compensate for the larger bore of your bolts on to make power....you will loose low end power, and only gain top end power that you are rarely going to be able to feel.

So Unless your going to put a turbo on it, don't expect too much. Get yourself a d16y8 head. Make sure to get all the y8 parts like Intake manifold, injectors, you should be able to just get the whole swap from someone if you take your time when your looking. Your also going to need an y8 ECU which i believe is a P2P. I would also get a new head gasket. And put new head bolts on if your going to stay N/A....Studs if your going turbo. Don't forget to pull the oil jet plug from the block if it has it between cyl 2 and 3
